Writers are inescapably bound to their settings, regardless of genre or style. As writers, we write what we know, and we know what we love. If we are fortunate, we love where we live, which in turn becomes what we know, which then becomes the source of our work. As a writer, I love where I live, and long to know it more, that my love might increase accordingly. Enjoy.
One photo does not tell the story of a place. One season does not complete the year. With observation comes the subtle tuning of our senses to the changes in our surroundings. As photographer, I aim to slowly tell the story of a place across the seasons. So too might I change as I mark my life against the subject of my work
I am a teacher, a writer, a photographer, a farmer, a husband, a father, and a business owner. My family and I live in a small cabin near the Ogeechee River, raise pigs and keep a large garden. I teach several classes, have been working on a book for longer than I ought, and occasionally take pictures at the right moment. I enjoy reading, paddling, and woodworking.
